Silence of woods broken now and then by
sounds of cross-country skis creaming and peeling.
An angry great tit.
Conversations drifting across frozen lake..
At 10 a.m.church bells
then rock music blasts from loud speakers at the base
of the Levi slope-until after dark
when
night snow mobiles
like a swarm of angry bees, zip around in the dark.
