Since 2005 collaboration and performance events have been choreographed by a core of three: musicians Cathy Stevens, Udo Dzierzanowski (Europa String Choir) and visual artist Frances Hatch.
Frozen Orchestras of Lost Sound emerged to acknowledge this association – Elisabeth Bletsoe contributed a poem to Frances’publication: Drawn to Antarctica and this poem gifted Frozen Orchestras with its name.
Initial exploration grew around Frances’ preoccupations with Antarctica. They started collaborating in 2005 with Antarctica as their focus but have since made work in response to diverse environments including Brotherswater in the Lake District, the landscape associated with St Wite of Whitchurch Canonicorum and BH13, an urban sculpture garden in Poole.
