The warmed flask of rabbit skin glue allowed me to mix pigments on site. I didn't need to use brushes. The connection between the hands and the materials is strong: dipping my hands in the ooze gathering in deep pools at the base of the slumped cliff was particularly deliciously silky in consistency. I can remember the feel of each of my materials.
